Welcome to my income report for June 2021

In June I have earned $93 passively in total. 22% more than in the previous month.

What I Did In June

Started A Keto Meal Plan

I always treated food as a means to an end. Eat something, feel full, rinse and repeat, each day every day. Ever since my childhood, food was a rare commodity.

Our family didn't have much money back then. the meal plan consisted of rice, noodles, and minced pork. Traditional Vietnamese ingredients were too rare and expensive and we had no idea how to cook Czech meals.

So as a first-grader, I had to take care of the cooking while my parents were out selling clothes on the streets. And since no one taught me how to properly cook, I just overcooked spaghetti, threw in minced pork meatballs, a little salt, and called it a day.

Eating my own food for many years had set many limiting beliefs. That eating healthy and tasty is an expensive hobby. That I need an oven to bake and fry. That starchy carbs are a staple of every meal. And finally that I cannot cook.

Once I didn't have to cook every day, and once I started to earn some pocket money from student jobs, I indulged myself in eating outside, in restaurants.

While the food tasted better, I faced a new set of issues. First, it was really expensive burning close to half of my monthly income or 200 USD on eating out. Second, I started to have some digestion issues like inflammation, bloating, and stomach pain.

Initially, I blamed the stress for the troubles, but once I saw the pattern, I had to do something. Every time I went out for lunch with colleagues to a Czech restaurant and ordered a classic lunch menu, I was in pain for the rest of the day. The talking and pressure from eating fast caused too much stress. Together with toxic food ingredients, I ended up bloated, fat, and miserable.

Something was wrong.

Only after starting my calisthenics journey, I started to look closer at what I eat. I started to count calories and care about macronutrients.

And once I went down the rabbit hole. There was no way back. No more cheap meals with colleagues. No more eating out. I would rather fast than eating out.

It was still not enough though. I never leaned out to the level I was at when I was eating once a day during high school, you know because I was saving my lunch money. My genes store fat very easily in the most visible places, on my face, and around my belly.

And food still tasted bland. Rice and other starchy vegetables were still a staple of every meal and had some sweets from time to time because I started to train for half-marathon and I thought I need a high glucose level to survive long-distance running.

Fast forward, with plenty of time on my hand working from home, I decided to learn how to cook properly.

Wow, why so sudden change you ask.

Well, as an autistic person obsessed with self-optimization, I wanted to spend as little money as possible on as healthy food as possible. While the taste should not suck completely.

So I made a list of my favorite food ingredients and to my surprise, all I saw were meat, cheese, and eggs. I am not a fan of overeating veggies, but I am not stupid and I know I need organic veggies to fill in all healthy nutrients.

I took my food list and started googling for recipes based on my favorite ingredients. And guess what, most recipes were keto-oriented.

So that is how I transformed my diet from all I can eat meals to toxic restaurant meals to low carb cheat meals to keto meals.

Once I learned how to shop for ingredients, and how to efficiently cook in batches, not only I reduced spending on the food, I also relax while prepping meals for the next days.

Not to mention I feel better than ever, having more energy from burning fat with ketones instead of burning glucose. I don't longer suffer from cravings, I feel full most of the time. And best of all, I can see my cheekbones again. My belly fat disappears like nothing and I completely enjoy my meals.

The only con is reduced strength during weight lifting, but you know what. I would rather be shredded and full of energy than bulked and full of fat and water having cravings and mood swings.

It is an incredible transformation, that I am proud of and can recommend to everyone.

Income Report Breakdown

P2P Lending

I am still keeping few dollars on my account with an Autotrader set on.

Savings Accounts

Since the National bank increased the interest rate by 0.25, I expect retail banks to follow the lead and increase saving rates as well. IF not soon then by end of the year.

As of now, I still keep a small portion of money in savings accounts to cover my living expenses.

Stock Investing

In June SP Index grew by 2%. Who has invested in indexes can congratulate himself. Just dollar cost average every month and bank on neverending growth. That is the strategy that worked for decades for the most passive investors.

Meanwhile, as a trader, I take much more risk, spend much more time, and for what? For pennies. So based on the historic evidence, I would be better off waiting and surviving the next crash. Then put everything into equities. Sit back and watch how it recovers.

People who did this after the covid crash doubled their money in a year. Too bad those crashes come once in a decade. And I already missed two of those.

Used Stuff Sales

My path to life minimalism went well in June. I got rid of some designer T-shirts, the fewer material things I own, the more freedom I get.

Plans, dreams, and wishes

My goals for July are the following. Study for driving license, and produce video content on regular basis.

That would be it. Thank you so much for following me on this journey and see you in the next report.
